Visit Rose Bay Max and Gaye 2023

A cool, calm spring morning greeted our food garden visitors to Rose Bay this month, where we discovered a gorgeous and highly productive garden tucked away in Max and Gaye’s suburban backyard. In addition to the great garden, lovely company and fabulous food, we were also treated to a crash course in all things crop protection!

Visit South Hobart Rosalie 2021

Visit South Hobart Rosalie December 2021

The rain came and went on a cool Saturday in early December when we met at Rosalie and Grant's place in South Hobart. And what an inspiring visit it was. We had visited Rosalie before, in a previous garden of hers in Sandfly. Then, as now, we were all amazed at the energy, creativity and sheer grit and determination Rosalie brings to her gardens.

Visit Bellerive Vivien and Mark 2021

Visit Bellerive Vivien and Mark 24 October 2021

Vivien and Marks garden in Bellerive is an unusual food garden because it combines ornamentals and edible plants everywhere. The result is a feast for the eye, and if you look carefully there is plenty of food to find as well.

Visit Mornington - Ailsa - December 2020

Visit to Ailsa, Mornington, December 2020

These garden visits keep surprising and delighting us. On Sunday 6 December 2020, we gathered (in 2 groups of 20 as per Covid regulations) at Ailsa's place in Mornington. We got a few brief sprinkles of rain, but nobody was deterred by them from having a great time, and the sun shone most of the time.

Visit Dirk and Pauline December 2019

On 1 December 2019 the Food Garden Group visited Dirk and Pauline's garden at Howden.  This was the last food garden visit before Christmas, and people did not need to RSVP, so a large crowd turned up.  This might also have been because the forecast was for a rare day of calm not-to-cold weather. Showers held off until the visit ended.  It all made this a perfect food garden experience.
