The group visited Liz and Mark's permaculture food garden on a warm late summer's day. Despite months and months of extremely dry conditions in southern Tasmania there was still a lot to see and discuss.

For the last Food Garden Visit before the winter break the group visited Kate's garden in Cygnet. Kate is a founding member of the Cygnet Seed Library and her garden holds a veritable treasure trove of plants grown from seed collected locally. 

Visit to Jan's, Dynnyrne, November 2020

Jan opened her garden, Summer Hill, in Dynnyrne for two sessions for this month’s garden visit. The forecast was good, but the clouds looked ominous. Thankfully both groups of visitors managed to enjoy a lovely morning before the rains fell.

Jan’s garden is an intense mix of ornamentals and food plants in what could have been survival-of-the-fittest battle for soil and sun but instead is a lush paradise that is both beautiful and productive.
