Visit Ravenswood Adrienne 2025

A beautiful spring day set the scene for an enjoyable start to the northern garden visits for the 25/26 season. Adrienne's garden was full of colour from many flowers, cherry blossom and her own creations from mosaic and glass art work pieces.

The quaint chook shed was much admired with the mosaic covered laying boxes and the beautiful stained glass in the door. Apple and pear trees are growing in the yard for the chooks to assist with codling moth control.

The garden slopes up from the house and consists of a network of meandering paths around the curved garden beds. Adrienne has dotted fruit trees, blueberry bushes and blackcurrant bushes in the flower beds resulting in an interesting garden to view.

Rhubarb was looking very happy planted in the mixed beds.

Adrienne describes herself as a very impatient person and has tended to plant many trees in close proximity to ensure a good harvest sooner rather than later.

The vegetable beds are of varying shapes that blend nicely with the ornamental garden. Raspberries and strawberries were growing in sections of the flower garden, with many citrus trees dotted around.

Several new raised beds have recently been added and Adrienne is filling them with tree cuttings, garden waste and will soon add the material from the chook shed when she cleans it out. Chillies and capsicum plants are planned for at least one of these beds.

The produce table was overflowing with many greens, strawberry plants, lettuce seedlings, potted plants and seeds on offer. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this abundance.

We enjoyed morning tea on the back deck which enjoys a view over a second chook yard and a wonderful view over the garden.

Thank you Adrienne for hosting this visit. We all enjoyed wandering around your pretty and productive garden  and marvelled at how much you have squeezed in.  We all admired your beautiful array of garden art.
